About The Season

Arsenal's 2017-18 season was marked by inconsistency and transition. Under Arsène Wenger, they finished 6th in the Premier League, missing out on Champions League qualification for the second consecutive year. However, they did win the FA Cup, defeating Chelsea in the final.

One memorable moment in the season came before their Europa League match against CSKA Moscow. Alexandre Lacazette, who had joined the club in the summer, was involved in a tense pre-match stare down with CSKA's players. Lacazette's intense focus and determination became symbolic of Arsenal's efforts to challenge in Europe despite not being in the Champions League. The team made it to the semi-finals of the Europa League but was eliminated by Atlético Madrid, marking the end of Wenger's tenure in European competition.
